About Tonia

Tonia Couch competes in both the 10m Platform and Synchro. She broke through as an international contender on her Olympic debut in 2008 finishing eighth in the 10m Platform. She repeated the feat in the 2009 World Champs and the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

The 2010 Commonwealth Games also saw the formation of the fruitful pairing that is now Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow, the pair finished fourth in the Synchro in Delhi.

In 2012 the duo shone with a European Gold and World Series Bronze and did incredibly well to finish 5th in front of a home crowd at the London Olympics.

Tonia won the National title in the 10m Platform in 2013 and continued her success with Sarah Barrow in the Synchro with European and Worlds Series Silver medals.

2014 built on their success again with more silverware including Silver in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and Tonia showed her individual class by winning European Gold.

2015 had an incredible start with Tonia and Sarah delivering some of their best results to date, a recent Silver in the Synchro in Canada has been their best finish yet as a pair. Tonia has also collected four Bronze medals for her individual performances and was overall series Champion for 2015.

2016 is a crucial year for Tonia and she got off to a fantastic start. Alongside new partner Lois Toulson,Tonia has picked up 3 World Series Medals in Canada, China and Dubai. Tonia has also had a fantastic individual season picking up a World Series Individual Silver in Kazan as well as a European Championship Individual Silver in London. Tonia's next competition will be the Rio 2016 Olympics where she will be competing in the individual 10m platform as well as the 10m synchro with partner Lois.
